Step off the elevator, and a single pivoting wood door swings open onto the view first—Sugarloaf rising over Praia do Flamengo, filling the room before you've even set down your bags.
The living and dining rooms hold that same view, by day and lit against the night sky after dark. Slide open the living room doors and step onto the balcony, where a table, two chairs, and a hanging chair turn a quiet moment into the best seat in the house.
The primary suite opens onto that same balcony, where Sugarloaf greets you each morning. A king bed sets the tone, while remote-controlled blackout curtains let the city wait until you're ready. With the touch of a button, the curtains open to reveal THAT view—without you ever having to leave the comfort of your bed. A 65-inch LG Smart TV, built discreetly into the ceiling, completes the room without ever competing with it. A walk-in closet leads to a floor-to-ceiling marble ensuite bath with double rain shower heads.
The same quiet attention to comfort continues throughout the home. Every additional bedroom offers its own ensuite bathroom, a queen bed, blackout curtains, a 43-inch Smart TV, and the kind of space that invites you to truly rest. Every room, including the primary suite, has independently controlled air conditioning.
Music is woven into the home itself. Bossa Nova drifts through the living room, dining room, kitchen, hall powder room, and the entire primary suite by way of an in-ceiling audio system. The theater room transforms movie night into a private cinema with a projector and immersive surround sound.
The marble kitchen was designed for people who genuinely enjoy cooking. A round table for four makes an intimate place to begin the day, though you may find yourself carrying your morning coffee to the balcony instead.
Technology quietly disappears into the background. From a single dedicated tablet, you can adjust lighting, climate, in-ceiling audio, and the theater system throughout the living areas and the entire primary suite—without ever interrupting the moment you're enjoying. Dim the lights for movie night, set the perfect temperature from bed, fill the home with Bossa Nova while you cook, or lower the theater screen for a private film. Every space responds effortlessly.
Explore the Neighborhood
Flamengo is one of Rio's oldest neighborhoods—upscale, residential, and mostly free of tourists. Just Cariocas living their everyday lives, the way they always have. A pickup game of futebol. A neighbor's nod that doesn't need words. The city at its most unguarded.
Mornings begin early here. Across the street, Aterro do Flamengo stretches along the shoreline—joggers finding their pace, cyclists tracing the waterfront, a game of altinha beginning before the heat settles in. Best of all, it's just outside your door. No driving. No metro. No Uber—step outside, walk across the street, and you're there.
Flamengo wears its history lightly. Your morning might begin with an açaí that locals insist is the best in Rio. An afternoon could lead you through museums, historic landmarks, and the gardens of Palácio do Catete. On Sundays, the Glória Market brings the neighborhood together the way it has for generations.
As night falls, the neighborhood doesn't go quiet—it just gets warmer. Live music drifts out from local restaurants, filling the night air, before the conversation inevitably turns to Flamengo—the football club as beloved as the neighborhood itself.
When you're ready to explore farther, two metro stations are just a short walk away, connecting you effortlessly to Centro, Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Barra da Tijuca, and beyond. But don't be surprised if you find yourself lingering in Flamengo a little longer than you planned.
This is why BVR chose Flamengo: not for the postcard, but for the neighborhood where you'd actually live.
